A lottery player beat the odds — leading to a big jackpot win in North Carolina.

The player bought a Carolina Cash 5 ticket that matched all the numbers picked in the July 24 drawing, making their ticket worth $100,000, results show.

The winning numbers were: 12-19-26-33-38.

The player hit the jackpot after stopping at a convenience store in the mountain town of Asheville. The lucky ticket was sold at Fastrac Markets Inc, the N.C. Education Lottery wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Cash 5 is a rolling jackpot game that offers tickets starting at $1. The player beat 1-in-962,598 odds to match all five numbers picked in the drawing, according to the lottery’s website.

Lottery officials shared news of the win early July 25, before the player would have been able to claim their prize. In North Carolina, jackpot winners have about six months to cash in, rules show.
