Thousands of NC lottery players won cash using these 3 easy to remember numbers

It’s easy to complicate things when picking numbers in the North Carolina lottery, but 5,000 people just made all that fretting look silly.

When pressed to come up with numbers in the Pick 3 game, they chose 9-1-1.

Don’t laugh. They all won in the Sunday, Dec. 28, drawing, according to a news release from the N.C. Education Lottery.

Pick 3 is a modest game that doesn’t offer life-changing jackpots, but a win is a win.

“Those numbers delivered over $1.43 million in prizes for lottery players,” lottery officials said. “In all, the drawing produced 5,151 winning tickets.”

Pick 3 tickets are 50 cents and $1. Players can pick any three numbers between 0 and 9, or they can have the terminal pick the numbers for them.

Odds of winning with the three numbers in exact order are 1 in 1,000. Prizes range from $25 to $500, depending on the price of the ticket. Players can also choose to play the numbers in any order.
