A toddler was killed Sunday in an accident at a church parking lot, the South Carolina Highway Patrol said.

The Florence County Coroner’s Office said the baby was hit by a car outside the church on South Eaddy Ford Road in Johnsonville, WPDE reported. That is where Mt. Moriah Christian Church is located.

The toddler was hit at about 12:45 p.m. when a person was moving a Honda van in the church’s parking lot, said Lance Cpl. Judd Jones of highway patrol.

Coroner Keith von Lutcken identified the 18-month-old girl as Khloe Chandler, according to WMBF.

An autopsy is scheduled at Charleston’s Medical University of South Carolina for Khloe, who was taken to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead, WMBF reported.

It’s unknown if any criminal charges will be filed against the driver of the van, but the collision remains under investigation by highway patrol.
