Fort Mill man exposed private parts to 3 women in public around same time, police say
A Fort Mill man is charged with indecent exposure against three women after he exposed his private parts in separate incidents within a short time on Sunday, police said.
Brandon J. Mayer, 23, faces as much as nine years in prison if convicted, South Carolina law states.
Mayer was first arrested Thursday in Chester County after a four-day investigation, said Maj. Bryan Zachary of Fort Mill Police Department.
That incident around 7 p.m. Sunday in Fort Mill’s Kingsley area near Interstate 77 happened, Zachary said.
The driver asked the woman if she could help him with something, the report stated. When the woman approached the vehicle, the driver had his penis exposed, the woman told police.
At around the same time Sunday, two women in the Baxter area of York County, also near I-77, told deputies a man had exposed his penis while they were walking their dogs, according to York County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Trent Faris and police reports.
Detectives with the sheriff’s office investigated the cases and served two warrants for indecent exposure against Mayer Friday afternoon, Faris said.
Mayer was convicted in 2016 of breach of peace after an incident at Fort Mill High School in 2013, records show. He received a youthful offender sentence that was suspended upon service of three years probation, according to court records.
Indecent exposure carries a maximum penalty of three years in prison for each conviction. The law is defined as: “It is unlawful for a person to willfully, maliciously, and indecently expose his person in a public place, on property of others, or to the view of any person on a street or highway.”
Mayer remained in the York County jail on all three charges as of late Friday, records show.
