Columbia man charged in child porn bust identified by South Carolina Attorney General
A Columbia man is facing multiple child pornography charges, the South Carolina Attorney General said Monday.
Robert Lamont Kirton, III, was charged with 10 counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, Attorney General Alan Wilson said in a news release.
After distributing multiple files of child porn, the 42-year-old Kirton was arrested Dec. 5 by members of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and the Richland County Sheriff’s Department, according to the release.
If he is found guilty, Kirton faces a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison for each charge, meaning he could be sentenced to 100 years in prison, the attorney general’s office said.
