Brothers, ages 7 and 9, taken from bedroom in SC are found safe in Florida, cops say

UPDATE: The missing Kinman brothers were found safe Sept. 18 in Panama City Beach, Florida, according to officials with the city of Aiken, S.C. Their mother, Nancy Kinman, was also found “with the children,” officials said in a release.

Two young brothers who vanished from their home in Aiken, South Carolina, early Thursday have been found safe nearly 400 miles away in southwest Florida, according to Aiken County Public Safety.

The boys’ mother, who was wanted for questioning, was located with them at 8:15 p.m. Friday at a home in Panama City Beach, Florida, officials said in a press release. Aiken is about 55 miles southwest of Columbia, near the Georgia state line.

Panama City Beach is on the Florida Panhandle in Bay County, and the Bay County Sheriff’s Office helped find the brothers, S.C. officials said.

The boys — identified as Matthew Kinman, 9, and Jerry Kinman, 7 — had been last seen before going to bed Wednesday, Sept 16.

“The juveniles were taken from their bedroom sometime during the night,” the department said in a release. “If located, please hold and notify Aiken Public Safety immediately.”

Their mother, Christina Kinman, has a last known address on Deerwood Court in Aiken, officials said. She was last seen driving a maroon, 2005 Toyota Camry, with the South Carolina license plate SIY391, officials said.
