Snow showers could develop in Charlotte next week, NWS says. Here’s the forecast.
Charlotte has a chance of snow showers by the end of the work week, according to the National Weather Service forecast at noon Saturday.
Hold off clearing the grocery store shelves just yet, however.
Charlotte has only a 30% chance of the white stuff on Friday, when the high is predicted to reach only 46 degrees, according to the forecast by meteorologists in the NWS office in Greer, South Carolina.
Any snow that forms would mix with rain that morning, although the chance of any precipitation remained less than even as of Saturday, according to the NWS.
One can at least hope. That big snow shovel we bought at Lowe’s a couple of years ago has stood lonely in the garage.
When 23 inches of snow dumped on parts of the North Carolina mountains on Jan. 13 and 14, none of it reached the Charlotte region.
Charlotte forecast
Showers have a 90% chance of moving into the Charlotte area by Sunday night, while Monday and Tuesday should remain mostly cloudy, the NWS forecast showed.
Rain is likely Wednesday and Thursday, with the chance of showers at 60%, according to the NWS.
