Air quality alert in place for North Carolina until Thursday evening

The NWS Greenville-Spartanburg SC reported an air quality alert at 11:11 a.m. on Thursday in effect until 8 p.m. The alert is for Gaston, Mecklenburg, Cabarrus and Union counties.
"The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality in Raleigh NC has issued a Code Orange Air Quality Action Day for Ground Level Ozone for Gaston, Mecklenburg, Cabarrus, and Union counties, until 8 p.m. this evening," describes the NWS.
This alert is in effect until 8 p.m.
