The NWS Wakefield VA released a beach hazards statement at 8:14 p.m. on Sunday valid for Monday between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. for Eastern Currituck.
The NWS informs, "Breaking waves of 4 to 5 feet will result in rough surf conditions and a high risk of rip currents."
"For the Beach Hazard Statment, High rip risk is expected," adds the NWS. "Remain out of the water to avoid hazardous swimming conditions."
This statement is in effect until Monday at 8 p.m.
