A new chapter begins in South End as South End Hideaway officially opens its doors, transforming the former Slingshot Social Game Club space into an intentional social destination blending cocktails, entertainment, food and nightlife under one roof.

Following the closure of Slingshot Social under prior ownership, Olsen Hospitality Partners assumed operations of the space and completely reimagined the brand with a renewed focus on atmosphere, design, service, and guest experience.

The project is led locally by Managing Partner Bryan Napoleone alongside business partner Joe Lariscy, who oversee day-to-day operations and execution. Justin “JGood” Goodrum serves as Resident DJ and Director of Music Programming, overseeing the venue’s music direction and overall vibe throughout the week in collaboration with the management team.

The bar program was designed and led by Sydney Wilson, who brings seven years of hospitality experience to the space. Brand strategy and marketing direction were developed in partnership with HiFrequency, led by Jabari Bradford, who is also helping curate experiential programming inspired by major CPG and alcohol brands, bringing those concepts into a more focused South End environment. Interior design direction was led by S. Carter Designs, founded by Sarah Olsen, helping shape the venue’s updated visual identity and atmosphere.

Led by Reid Olsen, Olsen Hospitality Partners operates a growing portfolio of food, beverage and entertainment concepts spanning both traditional and airport environments, including operations at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport and Southwest Florida International Airport. The company’s portfolio also includes Southernside Brewing Co. in Greenville, South Carolina, as well as upcoming concepts, including Buckhead Brewing in Atlanta.

Hideaway is a venue built on experience and connection.

The name “Hideaway” reflects the intent behind the concept — a place that feels discovered rather than overexposed. Positioned at the corner of Bland and Mint streets as one of South End’s largest venues, the brand developed its mantra “Easy to Find, Hard to Leave.” The size and layout of Hideaway allow for a variety of experiences for guests, creating an environment that evolves organically as the day progresses.

Hideaway can be described as polished but approachable, energetic, and flexible enough to evolve with the flow of day and night. In an effort to combine intentional design, interactive entertainment, and layered social spaces into one cohesive environment, Hideaway is destined to become a new home to local Charlotteans.

During the day, the space leans into a more relaxed, welcoming atmosphere centered around pool, darts, food, drinks and casual group gatherings. As the evening progresses, the venue transitions into a more dance-driven environment with live music and DJ programming across two levels.

Music throughout the venue is carefully curated through dayparts, built around a foundation of house music that transitions throughout the day to create an atmosphere that feels fun, familiar, timeless, and connection-driven.

The beverage program features:

  • A classic cocktail program built around recognizable, well-executed drinks
  • A curated local draft beer program
  • An approachable wine list designed for easy social ordering

The food program is designed to evolve over time through a layered, chef-curated approach with Chief Operating Officer Tim Campau at the helm. Guests can expect offerings sourced from multiple menus and service formats, including both in-house kitchen concepts and the company’s Atlanta-based YUMBI food truck partnership, known for its bold, globally inspired street food.

The result is a place where Charlotte can connect; designed for everything from casual daytime meetups to late-night dancing and group-driven experiences.

Located in the heart of South End, South End Hideaway is positioned to become a go-to destination for both locals and visitors looking for a more intentional and experience-driven night out in Charlotte.
