News Editor Rogelio Aranda joined The Charlotte Observer in 1998. He’s held several roles in news and sports, including copy editor, wire editor and designer. He served as the Observer’s interim sports editor in 2019.



Rogelio grew up in the Little Village neighborhood on Chicago’s Southwest Side. He is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He previously worked at the Daily Herald in Arlington Heights, Ill.
