Nick Sullivan is a local government reporter for McClatchy, covering Charlotte city government and accountability reporting. He graduated with a BA in Journalism from the University of South Carolina, joined McClatchy in 2024 and has three years of experience in journalism.
Before joining The Charlotte Observer, Nick covered K-12 school districts in Colorado Springs and the Arizona Department of Education in Phoenix. His reporting uncovered a $29 million mistake at the state education department and prompted federal intervention. He is one of those Ohio transplants everybody likes to complain about, but he is learning the ways of the South. When he is not on the clock, he is probably eating his weight in brisket at Midwood Smokehouse.
