Canes’ John Forslund shares award as NC sportscaster of year

John Forslund has won his own version of a back-to-back, being named sportscaster of the year in North Carolina for a second consecutive year by the National Sports Media Association.

Forslund, the Carolina Hurricanes’ television play-by-play announcer, will share the 2019 award with radio host David Glenn.

Forslund, who has been with the franchise 29 years, is in his 25th season as the TV voice of the Canes. Forslund also is a play-by-play announcer on the NBC sports network’s nationally televised games.
