CBS Sports names top 15 NBA players ever. Is Charlotte’s Steph Curry on the list?

Whether or not you believe it was coincidence that Michael Jordan finally agreed to do “The Last Dance” documentary after LeBron James and the Cavaliers upset the Golden State Warriors four years ago, many people think Jordan did it because James was tugging on his coattails.

James would later say that beating that 73-9 Warriors team in the finals, a team some believed was the best ever, elevated him to the best player of all time.

Is he right?

This week, two major sports outlets are naming their all-time greats. ESPN began a countdown earlier this week, and will name its top 10 later.

CBS Sports released its top 15 Tuesday.

Its staff members, including longtime NBA players like Avery Johnson and Rip Hamilton, created the list.

Charlotte’s Stephen Curry is the only current player, other than James, on the countdown, dropping in at No. 13.

ESPN also ranked Curry, a two-time NBA MVP, at No. 13.

The late Kobe Bryant was No. 10, three spots behind his former teammate Shaquille O’Neal who was No. 7. The top 3? Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, James and Jordan.
