How WFNZ is flipping its daily lineup, sending Kyle Bailey into new time slot
Charlotte sports-talk radio station WFNZ-AM 610 is flipping its mid-day and afternoon hosts.
Starting Monday, Kyle Bailey will move his “Clubhouse” show to the 10 a.m.-to-2 p.m. segment. Nick Wilson and Josh Parcell will shift from mid-day to the 2 p.m.-to-7 p.m. slot, ending the station’s 13 hours of weekday local programming.
While afternoon drive time is traditionally a prized radio spot, Bailey said he’s pleased with the shift to mid-days.
“This aligns with a lot of things in my life right now,” Bailey said on air during his final afternoon shift Friday. “This is good for me, good for us.”
Bailey came to WFNZ from Charleston, S.C., sports-talk radio. He originally teamed with former Carolina Panther Frank Garcia in a mid-day show.
Bailey also hosts the Charlotte Hornets’ pre-game show on WFNZ.
Bailey said on Friday’s show he has several projects in the works, and that moving to a mid-day show could facilitates those opportunities.
In April 2019, Entercom, WFNZ’s parent company, announced it had signed Bailey to a new long-term contract.
Former WFNZ programming director Tony DiGiacomo paired Wilson and Parcell two years ago. Wilson previously did sports-talk in Ohio. Parcell previously worked as a producer five years for ESPN.
Parcell was filling the 6-to-7 hours with a solo show after Bailey’s show finished. Now, Wilson and Parcell will be together for five hours daily.
