Below are the nominees for The Herald’s high school athlete of the week. The poll will close Friday at noon. Vote now. Vote often.

This week’s nominees

Libba Faircloth, South Pointe girls’ cross-country, sophomore: The Stallions’ sophomore ran a 21:15.20 to win the South Pointe Last Chance meet, Nov. 2. Faircloth’s run also helped the South Pointe girls’ cross country team to a 34-point victory at the same meet. Faircloth won the Region III, 4A title, Oct. 23.

Zymier Gordon-Miles, Northwestern football, sophomore: The 6-foot, 175-pound sophomore running back had 101 yards rushing and three touchdowns on 11 carries in a 45-0 win at Indian Land, Nov. 1. Gordon-Miles has 873 yards rushing and 10 touchdowns for Northwestern (10-0) this season.

Carson Pinti, Clover fooball, junior: The 6-foot-2, 205-pound junior linebacker had 13 tackles, including three tackles for loss and two pass break-ups in a 34-21 win at Catawba Ridge, Nov. 1. Clover is 7-3 overall this season.

Carson Sanford, Nation Ford football, senior: The 6-foot-2, 170-pound senior went 19-for-28 passing for 249 yards and two touchdowns in a 27-23 win over rival, Fort Mill, Nov. 1. Sanford has passed for 2,105 yards and 20 touchdowns for Nation Ford (2-8) this season.

Hunter Willis, Riverwalk Academy boys’ cross-country, eighth-grader: The Lions’ eighth-grader ran a 20:22.10 to win the Region II, A title at Great Falls’ High’s course, Oct. 29. Willis’ efforts also helped Riverwalk Academy’s boys’ team to a region title the same day. Willis won the region title race by 39 seconds.
