Fort Mill swimmer Carson Wolf is The Rock Hill Herald’s high school athlete of the week.

The Yellow Jackets’ senior captain finished third in the 200 individual medley and second in the 100 breaststroke at the Fort Mill Fallout at Fort Mill Aquatic Center on Sept. 25.

Wolf also helped both the 200 and 400 freestyle relays to runner-up finishes to help account for 48 points and lead the Fort Mill boys’ swim team to victory over Catawba Ridge and Nation Ford at the same meet.

Libba Faircloth, South Pointe girls’ cross-country, Jr.: The Stallions’ junior ran a 5k time of 19 minutes, 36.16 seconds to win the Cavalier Classic at Dorman High by nearly 25 seconds on Sept. 27.

Faircloth’s run also helped South Pointe to a fourth-place finish.

Jamol Horton, Indian Land football: The 5-foot-10, 182-pound senior running back had a season-high 160 yards on 28 carries to help Indian Land to a 33-9 win over Rock Hill on Sept. 26.

Horton has 474 yards rushing and six touchdowns for Indian Land (5-0) this season.

Carson Pinti, Clover football: The 6-foot, 210-pound senior middle linebacker had 13 tackles, including two tackles for loss, one sack and one forced fumble in a 27-26 win over Fort Mill on Sept. 26.

Clover is 4-2 this season.

Ahilyn Ramurez Guttierez, Lancaster tennis: The Bruins’ senior won 6-4, 6-2 at No. 3 singles as Lancaster lost a tight 4-3 match to Richland Northeast on Sept. 25.

Ramurez Guttierez is excelling for Lancaster despite having only played for six months, according to Bruins’ girls’ tennis coach Skip Parker.

Lillian Rivers, Northwestern girls’ golf: The Trojans’ senior shot an even par 36, earning medalist honors while leading Northwestern to victory over Clover and York at Spring Lake Country Club on Sept. 22.

The next day, Rivers earned medalist honors again, shooting a 3-over-par 39 to lead Northwestern (11-4) to victory over Clover and Nation Ford at Waterford Golf Club.

Jane Rohrmeier, Catawba Ridge girls’ tennis, So.: The Copperheads’ sophomore won 6-3, 6-3 at No. 5 singles to helped Catawba Ridge to a 4-2 win over Clover on Sept. 24.

Rohrmeier also won 6-3, 6-6 (12-10) at No. 5 singles in a 4-3 loss to Fort Mill on Sept. 26.

Rohrmeier is 6-1 in singles’ play for Catawba Ridge (3-4) this season.

Nigel Smith, Northwestern football: The 5-foot-8, 160-pound senior running back had 153 yards rushing and three touchdowns on 12 carries in a 56-20 win over Catawba Ridge on Sept. 26.

Smith also had one catch for 11 yards in the same game.

Smith has 541 yards rushing and eight touchdowns for Northwestern (5-1) this season.

Ellis Spencer, York cross-country: The Cougars’ junior ran a 16:37.90 5k to win at a York home meet on Sept. 25.

Spencer won the same race by nearly 30 seconds.
