Atlanta Dream Make Angel Reese Admission Ahead of 2026 WNBA Season
Angel Reese will be wearing a different uniform when the 2026 WNBA season begins in May after the Atlanta Dream acquired the 23-year-old power forward in a major trade on April 6. The Chicago Sky sent the two-time All-Star to Atlanta in exchange for the Dream's first-round picks in 2027 and 2028, along with the right to swap second-round picks in 2028.
The move places Reese in a significantly improved situation. She spent her first two seasons with the Sky without reaching the playoffs, while Atlanta finished with the third-best record last year and now enters the new season as a clear contender.
Both Reese and the Dream organization have since embraced each other since the trade, and continue to speak positively about the new partnership in anticipation of her debut season in Atlanta.
That excitement was again on full display on Friday when the Dream took to X to post a photo of Reese in an Atlanta jersey, admitting that the team's colors look good on their new star.

Reese brings a strong pedigree to Atlanta. She won a national championship with LSU in 2023 and was selected seventh overall in the 2024 WNBA Draft. She has already earned two All-Star selections and led the league in rebounding average in each of her first two seasons.
On the court, Reese averaged 14.1 points and 12.9 rebounds in 64 games during her tenure in Chicago. She is now expected to strengthen Atlanta's frontcourt and provide a physical, high-energy presence on the glass.
Reese is projected to slot into a starting role at power forward, where she will team up with a core that includes perimeter standouts like Rhyne Howard and Allisha Gray,
Atlanta opens the 2026 season on the road against Napheesa Collier and the Minnesota Lynx on Sunday, May 10, and Reese will hope she can start things off with a win.
