Diamondbacks Announce Corbin Carroll News After Leaving Blue Jays Game
Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll has established himself as one of the top players at his position during his Major League Baseball career. Carroll is playing in his fifth season in the majors. Heading into Sunday's game against the Toronto Blue Jays, he had a career slash line of .260/.343/.496 with an .839 OPS, totaling 85 home runs, 264 RBIs and 125 stolen bases.
Through his first 19 games this year, the 25-year-old hit .309 with a 1.018 OPS, blasting three long balls, driving in 15 runs and stealing three bases. This includes a go-ahead grand slam in the eighth inning against the Blue Jays on Saturday.
Carroll and the Diamondbacks struggled early on Sunday in the series finale against the Blue Jays, as Arizona looked to sweep Toronto and win its fifth straight game. Ryne Nelson started on the mound for the Diamondbacks, and he allowed eight earned runs while getting just one out.
As for Carroll, he grounded out in the bottom of the first inning and struck out swinging in the third. During that strikeout, Carroll appeared to grimace. When Arizona came out for defense in the top of the fifth inning, Carroll was replaced defensively by Jorge Barrosa.
After he was removed from the game, the Diamondbacks announced that Carroll left the game with low back tightness, according to Sports Illustrated reporter Alex D'Agostino.
"Low back tightness for Corbin Carroll, per the Diamondbacks," D'Agostino said.

At the time of writing, the Diamondbacks trailed the Blue Jays 10-1 in the bottom of the sixth inning, as Arizona's winning streak appeared to be coming to an end.
As Carroll has been a huge part of Arizona's success early in the season, losing him for any period of time would be a big blow to the Diamondbacks.
