The Denver Nuggets faced elimination Monday night in their Game 5 first-round matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves in the NBA playoffs … and survived. Trailing 3-1 in the best-of-seven series, Nikola Jokic had a triple-double Monday night as the host Nuggets won, 125-113, to force a Game 6, Thursday night in Minnesota.

Jokic finished with 27 points, 16 assists and 12 rebounds - his 23rd career playoff triple-double, third on the all-time list. The No. 6-seed Timberwolves were on the verge of upsetting the third-seeded Nuggets, but Minnesota has been forced to play without its starting backcourt of Anthony Edwards (hyperextended knee) and Donte DiVincenzo (Achilles). Minnesota needs one more win to advance, but the Nuggets suddenly regained some momentum.
