Indiana Fever Star Sophie Cunningham Teases Exciting News in New Post
Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham always grabs opportunities and makes things happen. The 29-year-old veteran took to Instagram Stories on Sunday to tease a new development to her loyal social media following.
Cunningham posted a video of herself fixing her hair, with Ella Langley's "Loving Life Again" playing in the background.
"I have something exciting happening, and I can't wait to share with ALL of you ," she captioned the clip.
The emojis, a sign of the horns, sun, sparkling stars and yellow heart, appeared to offer clues.
She kept things vague for now but promised to reveal the good news soon.
The list of potential news goes on for Cunningham. She has plenty going on both professionally and personally.
On the court, Cunningham re-signed with Indiana on a one-year, $665,000 deal. Off it, the fan-favorite continues building her brand. Her media roots trace back to her days as a recurring TV analyst for the Phoenix Suns. That experience carried over seamlessly into her current ventures.
Cunningham co-hosts the "Show Me Something" podcast with childhood friend and Bravo's "Summer House" star West Wilson. The show covers everything from WNBA insider access to pop culture.
Yet her off-court ventures have not overshadowed her main goal. Cunningham returns to play for coach Stephanie White with one thing in mind. She wants to help the Fever win a title.
She left her mark on Indianapolis last season. Cunningham came in as an enforcer, protecting Caitlin Clark and embracing that role and more. She averaged 8.6 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.0 steals per game in her first season with Indiana.
Fever fans lobbied hard for her return in free agency. The fan base was delighted when she re-signed.
Cunningham will be a pivotal piece for Indiana as the Fever look to go all the way. The regular season tips off May 9 against the Dallas Wings.
