Kyle Busch, John Hunter Nemechek Trade Shots on Social Media After Texas Drama
At the end of the Wurth 400 at Texas Motor Speedway, Kyle Busch and John Hunter Nemechek traded some paint. Busch and Nemechek were trying to finish in the top-15 after pretty solid days from both drivers. Then Busch put an end to that.
With two laps to go on the backstretch, Busch tried to clear Nemechek. He didn't and came off Nemechek's nose and got loose. Nemechek hit the wall, but they both kept racing into Turn 3 and 4. That was until the 8 came up the track and punted the 42 into the wall.
Kyle Busch finished P20. John Hunter Nemechek was P21. Then, the Legacy Motor Club driver took to social media to call out the rowdy veteran from RCR. The two drivers didn't respond directly to each other, but responded with their own takes on the situation.
"not [sic] freaking clear," Nemechek posted on social media. "great day going. and just got wrecked. what an (expletive)."
Clearly, Nemechek felt wronged. He used a three-letter word to describe Busch there at the end. One that Brad Keselowski used at Bristol years ago. It wasn't long before Busch hit back in his own post.
"I did not start this," Busch said. "The 42 apparently doesn't know where the RS of his car is and where he is in relation to the outside wall. There was 2 ft outside him and I was judging my left side tries to the hash marks. Always know who your [sic] racing beside."

Kyle Busch feels that John Hunter Nemechek didn't give him room. He thought that the 42 car should have been closer to the wall. I guess that's why he put him in the wall with that second hit going into Turn 3.
Ultimately, Busch lost a handful of points, maybe more. This is a season he can't afford to give up points. He had run very well prior to the late restart and this Nemechek incident. Busch had a top-10 car all day, and he might have almost made it back there had he not let his emotions get the better of him.
Also, between Riley Herbst at Bristol and Nemechek at Texas, it feels like NASCAR is likely to come down on Busch. Then again, maybe not. After all, there is new leadership in the sport. Are we going to see Boys-Have-At-It 2.0?
