President Trump Sends Personal Message To Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes

President Trump wants to be in the know ahead of the 2026 NFL season.

The President of the United States was heard pressing for inside info on the upcoming 2026 NFL regular season. Specifically, President Trump wants to know what's going on with Patrick Mahomes. Will the Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback be ready in time for Week 1 of the regular season.

The Chiefs are being pretty secretive. Mahomes, a three-time Super Bowl champion, suffered a torn ACL injury toward the end of the 2025 regular season. The Chiefs are keeping his recovery process pretty private. It's unclear if he'll be ready in time for Week 1.

But that's not stopping President Trump from pushing for info.

President Trump welcomed Kansas City restaurant owners brother Mike and Joe Pearce of Slap's BBQ at the White House on Monday.

He hopes that the Kansas City restaurant owners would have some inside info on Mahomes' recovery.

"Most importantly, how is Mahomes doing?" he asked.

One of the owners responded: "He's going to be OK."

President Trump sent a personal message to Patrick Mahomes.

"You tell the people of (Kansas City) we love him. He's going to be OK," the POTUS further added.

The NFL wants to know, too

The NFL, which has yet to release its complete 2026 schedule, wants to know if Mahomes will be ready in time for Week 1, too.

The league doesn't want to put the Chiefs in a primetime slot and then have Mahomes be missing time.

"He's one of the biggest stars in the league, and I don't think any of us would feel great if we had him in prime time early in the season and he missed the first four weeks or whatever," NFL VP Mike North said. "That being said, that's a good football team, that's a good coach over there, and they went and signed a veteran starting quarterback in this league."

The Chiefs could have Justin Fields at quarterback early on, if Mahomes is still out.

"Would the league want to use the big Chiefs-Bills game in Week 1? That's a fair question," North said. "I'm not sure it does 30 or 35 million viewers in Week 1 without Patrick Mahomes. So certainly some thought to maximizing that quarterback and this rivalry."

The Chiefs are coming off a playoff-less season, but they hope to rebound in 2026.
