Aaron Rodgers Receives Request From NFC Wide Receiver

Aaron Rodgers has yet to decide if he will return for his 22nd season in the NFL. After spending 2025 with the Pittsburgh Steelers, the four-time MVP is not only a free agent but also considering retirement.

In his 16 starts with the Steelers, Rodgers completed 327-of-498 passes for 3,322 yards, 24 touchdowns, seven interceptions and a 94.8 passer rating. The team wound up going 10-7 and making the playoffs for the third straight season.

While a return to Pittsburgh has been viewed as the most likely destination if he doesn't retire, there are several teams without an established quarterback.

Wide receiver Kendrick Bourne signed a two-year, $10 million contract to join the Arizona Cardinals this offseason. However, the team's quarterback room is full of questions. After releasing Kyler Murray, the team signed Gardner Minshew II and drafted Carson Beck with a third-round pick.

Minshew and Beck, along with Jacoby Brissett and Kedon Slovis, are the only quarterbacks the Cardinals have on their roster. With the uncertainty, Bourne made it clear he wants Rodgers to sign with the Cardinals.

"@AaronRodgers12 Come on we waiting on you," Bourne said via an X post.

Former NFL quarterback Matt Hasselbeck noted that Rodgers could be interested in Arizona because of his connection with offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett. Hackett served as Rodgers' OC with the Green Bay Packers (2019 to 2021) and New York Jets (2023 and 2024).

After drafting Beck with the No. 65 pick, the Cardinals may view the former Miami Hurricane as the franchise's solution at quarterback. Bringing in Rodgers to serve as a mentor could give Arizona a short-term answer and allow its rookies to develop.
