Dodgers Could Lose Star Pitcher After Sudden Injury vs. Astros
The Los Angeles Dodgers smashed the Houston Astros 12-2 in a rematch of the now-infamous 2017 World Series, but the biggest moment of the game might have come near the very start.

Following giving up a home run against the first batter of the day, Dodgers’ starter Tyler Glasnow calmed down and got out the next three Astros hitters, looking like he was getting in a groove as he recorded the 1,000th strikeout of his career.
But as he came back to the mound to begin the second inning, Glasnow grimaced and looked to start cursing to himself, which prompted the coaching staff to meet him on the mound.
After a few seconds of discussion, Glasnow turned from the mound and stalked back to the team’s dugout, disappearing into the tunnel of Daikin Park and ending his day with a shroud of mystery.
While the initial concern was that Glasnow felt something in his shoulder or throwing arm, the Dodgers soon reported that he left the game with lower back pain.
Injuries have plagued Glasnow throughout his career, especially in the arm and shoulder, forcing him to never have a true start-to-finish season in the MLB.
Two years ago, in his first season as a Dodger, he was having a career year before tendonitis struck him in the last quarter of the season and forced Glasnow to miss the entire postseason.
Last year, Glasnow missed two months due to back and shoulder issues, but this time, he returned near the end of the regular season and helped L.A. win back-to-back World Series championships in the playoffs.
For the Dodgers, who are eyeing a three-peat and have another one of their aces, Blake Snell, close to returning after beginning the first month of the season on the sidelines, the team will more than likely be extra cautious with Glasnow as they hope to have him healthy for the playoffs.
If Glasnow were to take a similar break to last year’s hiatus for his back issues, he’d return sometime shortly after the All-Star break as the Dodgers look to lock down another NL West crown.
