Mike Brown's OG Anunoby Update Raises Concern for Knicks

The New York Knicks are rolling, and following a close win on Wednesday against the Philadelphia 76ers at a jam-packed Madison Square Garden, they’re only two wins away from returning to the NBA Eastern Conference finals.

And a lot of that has been thanks to their jack-of-all-trades player, OG Anunoby, who has been excellent through the first two weeks of the postseason.

After averaging around 16 points in the regular season, he leveled up for the first round against the Atlanta Hawks, averaging 21 points against them in the six-game series.

Anunoby has kept up his 21-point average in the two games against Philadelphia, scoring 24 on Wednesday before vanishing near the end of the game following what appeared to be a hamstring injury.

While fans eagerly awaited head coach Mike Brown to give an update on Anunoby in the post-game presser, the coach’s update only left supporters with more anxiety about his status heading into Game 3 on Friday.

“I don’t know anything,” Brown said when asked about Anunoby’s current health.

Fans on social media have been quick to try to understand what is going on with the Knicks star, as he’s made himself almost impossible to place in the current New York roster.

Hamstring injuries have already been a major factor in these playoffs, as the league’s leading scorer, Luka Doncic, hasn’t played a single game since suffering a Grade 2 strain a month ago.

Knicks fans will continue to wait on updates about Anunoby’s health as the night continues on and into the early morning, as even a 2-0 series lead might not be sweet enough to calm nerves around New York City.
