SF's Singletary, Hanks and Wilson relay team win state track titles & other high school recaps
COLUMBIA, S.C. − The Pee Dee saw three individual track & field state champions crowned Thursday evening at the 4A State Championships held at Richland Northeast High School.
South Florence had a pair as Adrian Singletary took the top spot in the boys high jump while Karmen Hanks won the girls 100-meter hurdles.
Singletary had a jump of 6-6.75 (2.00m) while Hanks' time of 14.89 beat out Hartsville's Nizeria McCoy (15.46) for the top spot.
The other big winner was the Wilson High School boys 4x100 relay team which edged Crestwood for the overall title with a time of 41.79. The team consisted of MyQuan McWhite, Brian Wilson II, Jalen Boston and Jamel Bell.
Other strong showings included the Wilson girls 4x100 relay team (3rd), the Wilson girls 4x400 relay team (4th), Wilson's Tristan Howard in the javelin (4th), Hartsville's Shalaye Jenkins in the 100-meter hurdles (5th), Hartsville's Jaheim Peterson in the 110-meter hurdles and Hartsville's Kylif Miller in the triple jump (3rd).
