Dallas Wings Rookie Azzi Fudd Makes History Against New York Liberty
Dallas Wings rookie guard Azzi Fudd has gotten off to a great start to her WNBA career. After being selected with the first overall pick in the 2026 WNBA Draft by the Wings, Fudd had been quite consistent through her first five games. However, she did not have a breakout performance in those appearances.
That narrative changed on Sunday, though, as Fudd exploded for an incredible performance on the road against the New York Liberty.
Fudd played 32 minutes off the bench for the Wings, as she scored 24 points, which was tied with teammate Paige Bueckers for the game high, on 9-of-15 shooting from the floor and 6-of-12 from beyond the arc.
This was the most successful game of Fudd's young career, as she helped the Wings take down the Liberty, 91-76, to bounce back after Friday's loss to the Atlanta Dream.
Most of Fudd's contributions came in an outstanding third quarter. Dallas outscored New York 28-17 in the third, and Fudd scored 17 of those points. This number tied her for the second-most points scored in a single quarter by a rookie in WNBA history.

Fudd made all six of her three-pointers in that quarter as well, as she was on fire from deep. After being given the confidence by head coach Jose Fernandez to start the second half, Fudd did not disappoint.
With her historic performance, it leaves Fernandez and the Wings with a decision to make on whether to give her more minutes in the coming games.
Fudd and Dallas next take the floor at home on Thursday against the Las Vegas Aces. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET and can be seen on Prime Video.
