Family of Kyle Busch Gathers on Pit Road During Powerful Moment of Silence

Kyle Busch was a son, a brother, a husband, and a father. His loss is immeasurable. Before the invocation and national anthem, the Busch family stood on one end of pit road, surrounded by their NASCAR family in this difficult time.

His wife Samantha, his children Brexton and Lennix, his brother Kurt, and his parents Tom and Gaye. As the sport gathered to support the Busch family, and honor and remember Kyle, it was an overwhelmingly emotional scene ahead of the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Drivers and teams all wore their Kyle Busch, Brexton Busch, and Kyle Busch Motorsports gear on pit road. A reminder, on a weekend that is already a reminder, that life is so precious.

Before the moment of silence, NASCAR CEO Steve O'Donnell, gave a touching message to the Busch family, and to Brexton. The NASCAR family will always be behind them and will always be their family.

The NASCAR community has an incredible ability to rally behind each other like no other. There are so many drivers who learned how to race and win while driving Busch's trucks. His ability to elevate a race no matter what it is, was unmatched.

Everyone is thinking of the Busch family at this time. Losing Kyle hurts the racing community, but the impact on his family cannot be measured. A young son, daughter, and a loving wife are without their father and husband. There were many tributes in the crowd as well on signs, shirts, and other apparel.

Two days of rain in Charlotte, almost reflecting the mournful feeling of the sport. Now, the weather has cleared up, and it feels like everyone in the field is racing with a little bit of Rowdy in them.
