Best NRFI and YRFI Bets Today
New York Yankees at Kansas City Royals YRFI (-125)
The Yankees take on the Royals and LHP Bailey Falter, who has done a lot of Faltering thus far. He'll be the opener on Tuesday and has appeared in four games. He has given up a run in each of those outings. He has a 14.14 ERA in two career outings against the Yankees. The Yankees toss young hurler Cam Schlittler, who has a 1.50 ERA on the season, but we still like the YRFI upside for the Yanks' offense.
Colorado Rockies at Los Angeles Dodgers YRFI (-110)
LHP Kyle Freeland was pushed to Tuesday for the Rockies, and he has a 10.12 ERA in the first frame over eight starts. Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani is 7-for-11 with two homers off him lifetime, and he'll likely lead off the bottom half of the first. LHP Eric Lauer goes for the Dodgers, and he has been awful in the first as well with a 7.50 ERA in six starts.
St. Louis Cardinals at Milwaukee Brewers NRFI (-130)
RHP Michael McGreevy has been the Cards' best starter this season with a 2.40 ERA. He has been great to open the game as well with a 1.80 ERA in 10 first frames. LHP Kyle Harrison has been one of the best pitchers in the NL this season for the Brew Crew. He's 5-1 with a 1.77 ERA and has a 2.00 ERA in the first inning. We like this first inning to remain scoreless for an NRFI.
What Does NRFI and YRFI Mean in Baseball?
The term NRFI indicates no runs scored in the first inning. Its opposite, YRFI, indicates yes, a run will be scored in the first inning. It doesn't matter if the run qualifies as an earned run or not. If a run crosses the plate in the first inning for either team, the wager loses for the NRFI side and wins for the YRFI side.
