Spurs' Dylan Harper Comments on Facing Knicks in NBA Finals

San Antonio Spurs rookie guard Dylan Harper played a big role in his team taking down the Oklahoma City Thunder, 111-103 in Game 7 of the Western Conference finals on Saturday. The Spurs will now take on the New York Knicks in the NBA Finals, beginning on Wednesday.

Harper, who was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft by San Antonio, played 27 minutes off the bench on Saturday, scoring 12 points on 5-of-8 shooting, including 2-of-3 from beyond the arc, with seven rebounds and three assists.

The 6-foot-5 shooting guard has been a big part of the Spurs' success in the playoffs, as he has played in every postseason game, including leading the team in scoring twice.

Harper is from Franklin Lakes, New Jersey, and played his collegiate basketball at Rutgers University in the same state. He grew up a fan of the Knicks, and he will now face off against New York in the NBA Finals.

After the Spurs' triumph in Game 7, Harper spoke about playing against the Knicks on the biggest stage.

"I've been to so many Knicks playoff games, Knicks games," Harper said, per SNY. "I live 25, 30 minutes from the arena, so I know there's gonna be a whole lot of tickets I'll be asked for. It's a dream come true. It's a blessing."

During the regular season, the rookie played 69 games with four starts, putting up 11.8 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.9 assists per contest en route to finishing fourth in NBA Rookie of the Year voting.

Harper and the Spurs will begin their quest for an NBA title in Game 1 of the Finals against the Knicks on Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
