Broncos Advised to Make Major Trade Before 2026 Season

The Denver Broncos came so close to making it to the Super Bowl but fell short, largely because quarterback Bo Nix got injured towards the end of the team’s playoff run. They’ve already made one blockbuster trade move by getting Jaylen Waddle from the Miami Dolphins, but could they make another?

One NFL analyst thinks the Broncos aren’t quite done with the big trades before the new season.

Moe Moton of Bleacher Report has released a feature where he names one blockbuster trade each franchise should make before the 2026 season starts. “We could get more transactional fireworks this summer, or at least see moves that we expected teams to make, like the Brown deal, before final roster cuts on August 30,” he states.

For the Broncos, he likes the idea of the team trading wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr.

“With a fully healthy Denver Broncos wide receiver room, Marvin Mims Jr. won’t be able to showcase his true potential as an offensive playmaker,” he states. “In the final year of his deal, Mims should want to go elsewhere before his 2027 free-agency bid, and the Broncos should accommodate him.”

He adds: “As an All-Pro and two-time Pro Bowl special teamer, who had 39 catches for 509 yards and six touchdowns in 2025, Mims has trade value.”

For Mims, it’s really all about the depth chart. He’s never going to get the playing time that he wants in Denver, and he’s an expensive player to have on the bench. A trade could be the best move for both parties.
