Post 1 shuts out Manning-Santee

FLORENCE, S.C. − Brandon Anderson, Bennett Causey and Tristan Heckman combined on a three-hit shutout as Florence Post 1 topped Manning-Santee 7-0 on Saturday at American Legion Field.

The two teams will meet again Monday in Manning at 7 p.m. before returning to Florence on Wednesday for a third contest at 7:30 p.m.

Anderson went five innings and allowed just one hit with two strikeouts for Post 1. Causey allowed two hits but no runs in his inning of work and Heckman closed things out with a 1-2-3 seventh that included two punchouts.

Offensively, Bryce Oliver had two hits including a home run for Florence. Mason Weatherford collected two doubles and drove in a pair while Anderson and Gabe McLaughlin picked up RBIs as well.
