Joe Gibbs Reveals Christopher Bell Injured During Michigan Wreck

A massive wreck with Christopher Bell and Chase Elliott has led to injuries for the former. Bell was released from the care center at Michigan after being evaluated. However, he did not speak with the media. Coach Joe Gibbs spoke to the media after Denny Hamlin won the race.

During his time in front of the media, Joe Gibbs revealed that Christopher Bell is dealing with wrist and ankle injuries. According to Jeff Gluck of The Athletic, Bell will be evaluated during the week before Pocono.

The wreck between Bell and Elliott was violent. It was one of those wrecks that makes the crowd gasp and wait anxiously for the drivers to make any move. Both drivers got out of their cars under their own power, but Bell stayed in the care center much longer than Elliott. Now we more or less know why.

If Christopher Bell has to be evaluated this week before Pocono, then his availability will be in question. Prior to the wreck, Bell was having a very solid race and was in contention for the win. It has been a season full of trials and tribulations for Bell and his team. This is another bump in the road along the way.

Hopefully, Bell is back in the car and healthy to race at Pocono. This is a crucial part of the season and missing out on any races would be a tough blow in the point standings. Of course, Bell's health comes first and foremost. Joe Gibbs Racing will make sure he's taken care of, and if he's ready, prepared to race at the Tricky Triangle.

Chase Elliott apologized to Bell for the wreck. He also took full responsibility for the incident.
