Mike Bloomberg Reacts To Viral Sideline Moment With Knicks' Jose Alvarado
New York Knicks guard Jose Alvarado nearly took out former New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg during Game 3 of the NBA Finals.
Alvarado's hustle was on full display during fourth quarter of Game 3. The scrappy guard tried diving for a loose ball as the Knicks were trailing 96-91. Although he was unable to come up with possession for New York, he did have a pretty awesome interaction with Bloomberg.
Bloomberg, who was sitting near New York Yankees legend Derek Jeter, was sitting courtside for Game 3. That's not a huge surprise considering his net worth is projected to be around $109.4 billion.
Even though Bloomberg looked a bit shaken up, he cracked quite the joke about it on Tuesday.
"Great to meet NYC's homegrown star, @AlvaradoJose15," the former mayor of New York City wrote. "But next time, Jose, just call me. Let's go Knicks!"
All eyes on Game 4.
Knicks coach Mike Brown voiced his displeasure with the refs after Game 3 went final, but his players aren't placing the blame on officiating.
"That ain't cost us the game. Turned the ball over. Didn't execute," Knicks star Karl-Anthony Towns said. "Didn't do what got us 13 straight wins in a row. That's how you lose a game. We didn't do what we've been doing for 13. We decided to do something different, and it ain't going to work."
Game 4 is set for this Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. ET.
We'll see if Alvarado has another wild interaction with a celebrity at Madison Square Garden.
