Charles Barkley Faces Criticism For 'Obscene' Remark During NBA Finals
Former NBA star turned "Inside the NBA" analyst Charles Barkley is under fire for an "obscene" remark during Game 3 of The Finals.
Barkley, arguably the most beloved analyst in the entire NBA, went viral for his colorful remarks about Cardi B, who was performing at halftime of Game 3 of the 2026 NBA Finals at Madison Square Garden.
"I don't know if those B's. They might be Cardi D's," the NBA star said, referring to the "I Like It" rapper's figure.
"I'm pretty sure those aren't B's."
Barkley's colleague, Ernie Johnson, joked: "I don't know who said that, but I know it wasn't me."
Barkley is known for his off-the-cuff remarks and brutal honesty during games. However, not everyone loved his remarks.
Some NBA fans found it offensive and unprofessional, as Barkley is being urged to be more careful with his comments.
Fans criticizing Barkley for his Game 3 remarks
NBA fans are being critical of Barkley for his commentary.
"Only Chuck can say something that wild and still be loved for it," one fan wrote.
"The man is a grown adult on national television reducing a performer to her body like it's 1995. It's not funny, it's not clever, it's just sad," another fan said.
"He's never been one to hold back, and these Finals broadcasts keep giving him material to work with," another fan joked.
"Unprofessional," one fan added.
"Not great," another shared.
Barkley, meanwhile, likely won't be holding anything back moving forward. Game 4 of the 2026 NBA Finals is scheduled to tip off shortly after 8:30 p.m. E.T. on Wednesday evening. The game will take place at Madison Square Garden.
New York leads San Antonio, 2-1, heading into Game 4, before the series heads back to San Antonio for Game 5 this weekend.
