George Pickens, Tee Higgins Highlight NFL's Best No. 2 WR Debate
The only thing better than having one superstar wide receiver is having two of them, and a handful of teams know all about it.
Whether it's George Pickens with the Dallas Cowboys, or Tee Higgins with the Cincinnati Bengals, the ability to punish opposing defenses for rolling coverages to the other side of the field and giving these high-end pass-catchers consistent 1-on-1 opportunities is a distinct advantage for a few lucky teams.
Pickens put up huge numbers in his first season with the Cowboys last year, and is back for 2026 on the franchise tag to line up across from CeeDee Lamb in Dallas. In Cincinnati, Higgins has consistently punished opponents for keying on teammate Ja'Marr Chase, delivering impressive production and some highlight-reel catches in clutch moments for the Bengals.
Those aren't the only teams with a high-end WR2, either.
Davante Adams gives the Los Angeles Rams a dangerous secondary target opposite Puka Nacua. Even without Mike Evans in the mix now, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers still have a star in the making with 2025 first-rounder Emeka Egbuka, whose role across from Chris Godwin Jr. is sure to expand this season.
Jameson Williams is one of the most electrifying playmakers in the league with the ball in his hands, giving the Detroit Lions a dangerous No. 2 option alongside Amon-Ra St. Brown. Acquired via trade from the Indianapolis Colts, the Pittsburgh Steelers got a massive upgrade at the WR2 spot with Michael Pittman Jr. now teaming up with DK Metcalf.
