Rams Star Myles Garrett Recognized With Hall of Fame Selection

Defensive end Myles Garrett is on the move. After nine seasons with the Cleveland Browns, he was traded to the Los Angeles Rams in exchange for EDGE Jared Verse, a 2027 first-round pick, a 2028 second-round pick and a 2029 third-round pick.

It's a major change of scenery and expectations for the 30-year-old. The Rams are coming off an NFC Championship Game appearance, while the Browns went just 5-12 and were tied for the sixth-worst record in the NFL.

While gearing up for his first season in Los Angeles, the pass rusher was the recipient of a major honor. On Monday, the Texas A&M Aggies announced that Garrett was one of eight people named to the program's Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2026.

"Garrett's impact on Texas A&M football remains significant," the university's official statement read. "As the program's first No. 1 overall NFL Draft selection, his collegiate achievements and professional success have cemented his place among the most accomplished players in Aggie football history."

Inductees will also be celebrated during halftime of Texas A&M's matchup against the Arizona State Sun Devils on Sept. 12. That is just two days after the Rams' Week 1 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers.

In his three seasons (2014 to 2016) with Texas A&M, he appeared in 36 games, racking up 145 tackles, 48.5 tackles for loss, 32.5 sacks, seven forced fumbles and one interception. In his final year, Garrett was named a unanimous All-American.

With another major accomplishment under his belt, the two-time Defensive Player of the Year adds to a growing legacy. However, going into his first season with the Rams, Garrett is shifting his focus to the ultimate goal of a Super Bowl victory.
