Want to watch the Columbus Crew vs Charlotte FC match on TV? Here’s how to find it
Charlotte FC takes on the Columbus Crew at 7:30 p.m. Saturday on the road at Lower.com Field. The match will be locally broadcast in English on WAXN and in Spanish on Telemundo Charlotte. The radio broadcast can be found at WFNZ in the Charlotte Area.
This will be the second game for Charlotte under interim head coach Christian Lattanzio. The first was a resounding 2-0 home victory over the New York Red Bulls that pushed Charlotte into the Eastern Conference’s No. 7 seed. If the season ended today, Charlotte (6-8-1) would make the playoffs in its inaugural season.
But Lattanzio’s squad has had one major flaw so far this year — road struggles. The team is 0-6-1 away from Bank of America Stadium and will look for the franchise’s first-ever road victory against the Crew.
Columbus (4-5-4) sits in the Eastern Conference’s No. 10 spot, three points behind Charlotte but with two games in hand, making Saturday’s match an important one.
“You look at the table and I think we are sitting sixth in the East (as of June 15) and that’s never having won a game away,” McKinze Gaines said. “I think that gives us extra motivation to say ‘Hey if we keep winning these games at home and we snatch a few on the road there is no reason why we can’t be sitting comfortably in a playoff spot whenever the season ends.’ ”
