Ready to run it back?

The question, of course, refers to two moments in Charlotte FC history — the club’s first weather postponement this past weekend, and the club’s first all-time regular season match.

CFC (8-12-2) faces DC United (6-12-3) at home for the first time since its inaugural match, one that ended in a 3-0 road loss for the MLS expansion team. The home match will take place at Bank of America Stadium at 7 p.m. on Wednesday. Local fans can watch the game on WAXN and stream it on www.charlottefootballclub.com/live.

A lot has changed since that first match in February. The most notable changes? The Queen City team fired and replaced its head coach, and it also proved its power at home.

Buoyed by a 7-3 record in front on its home pitch, CFC has earned 26 playoff points and sits at 10th in the MLS Eastern Conference standings. Only the top-seven teams from each conference make the postseason, but only three FC points — in other words, one FC win — separates it from the No. 7 team.

DC United dwells at the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings with 21 points.
