Charlotte FC will play on its home pitch a few days early.

The club announced on Thursday that its preseason match against Charleston Battery will be relocated to Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte due to the threat of inclement weather in Charleston on Saturday.

The exhibition match against the USL Championship side will begin at 3 p.m.

Fans with tickets for the originally scheduled preseason match will receive communication about redeeming their tickets, according to a release. Additional ticketing questions can be sent to tickets@charlestonbattery.com.

The news means that Charlotte FC offseason acquisitions — including goal-scorer Enzo Copetti and Ashley Westwood — will make their debuts in Bank of America a few days before anticipated. The Queen City side begins its season at home on February 25 against New England Revolution.

On short notice, Charlotte FC made approximately 2,500 free tickets available for the match. Those tickets sold out quickly.

Charlotte FC’s preseason will end with a closed-door friendly versus Birmingham Legion FC on Saturday, Feb. 18, per the team’s website.
