Charlotte Hornets guard Kemba Walker upgraded to questionable for Thursday’s exhibition
The Charlotte Hornets have upgraded point guard Kemba Walker’s status for Thursday’s exhibition against the Boston Celtics to questionable.
Walker sat out Monday’s exhibition in Dallas against the Mavericks. He was initially held out of contact drills in the preseason to protect his left knee, on which he had a surgical procedure over the summer.
Walker has done contact drills in practice this week, and his progress suggests he could be ready to start playing in exhibitions. The Hornets will play the Celtics twice in four days: Thursday in Greensboro and Oct. 8 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut.
"He looks healthy, like he’s getting back," said forward Frank Kaminsky. "He’s obviously our leader, so whenever he’s ready to go, we’ll be happy to have him back."
