Matchup to Watch

Dirk Nowitzki vs. Cody Zeller/Marvin Williams: Nowitzki’s versatile scoring ability, particularly his pull-up mid-range game, will be a big challenge to the Hornets’ two primary power forwards.

Observations

▪ The Mavericks’ roster move was signing Amare Stoudemire for the rest of the season once he cleared waivers with the New York Knicks.

▪ .The Hornets have spilt the season series with Dallas each of the previous two seasons. The Mavericks won in Charlotte in November by 27.

Tap-ins

▪ The then-Bobcats lost their first 16 games against the Mavericks before finally winning in November 2012.

▪ Ex-Bobcat Raymond Felton isn’t playing much as the Mavericks’ third point guard.

Did you know?

In June the Hornets drafted Stanford forward Dwight Powell in the second round. Since then he’s passed through the rosters of Cleveland, Boston and now the Mavericks.
