▪  Boston Celtics coach Brad Stevens is a big fan of ex-Charlotte Bobcat Gerald Wallace being so adaptive this late in his career: “I’ve thrown him into so many roles already this season and he has handled them all well.”

▪  The Sloan Analytics Conference is going on in Boston this week and Stevens was asked what analytics are to him. He said this is a big change from when he was a college coach: “The amount of info is so vast it’s hard to sift through.”

▪  There was a small chance Hornets reserve center Bismack Biyombo would be cleared to play Friday after missing 10 games with a knee bruise. Now his return will be Sunday in Orlando, Fla., or Tuesday at home against the Los Angeles Lakers. Coach Steve Clifford said Biyombo “didn’t look comfortable” at practice Thursday.

▪  Stevens looks so young he could be the intern rather than the head coach.
