Matchup to Watch

Kawhi Leonard vs. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist: Leonard started out in the NBA as primarily a defender, but he has evolved into one of the league’s great two-way players.

Observations

▪  The Hornets’ win against the Spurs in Charlotte last season broke a 10-game Spurs winning streak in this series.

▪  The Spurs have the best free-throw percentage in the NBA (83.7 percent) and second-best 3-point percentage (39.5 percent).

Tap-ins

▪  Hornets center Cody Zeller (sprained shoulder) did not practice Tuesday, but Jeremy Lamb (hamstring) and Treveon Graham (Achilles tendon) both did. Frank Kaminsky practiced, despite spraining his left ankle in Monday’s loss to the Memphis Grizzlies.

▪  This is the first time the Hornets have played a regular-season game on ESPN since an April 2015 loss to the Toronto Raptors.

Did you know?

Leonard has the highest individual winning percentage in NBA history (77.8 percent).
