Charlotte Hornets assistant general manager leaving for the Indiana Pacers
Charlotte Hornets assistant general manager Chad Buchanan is leaving for a similar executive position with the Indiana Pacers.
Buchanan has been Hornets general manager Rich Cho’s top assistant the past three seasons. In Indianapolis, Buchanan will be reunited with Kevin Pritchard, Pacers president of basketball operations, who Buchanan worked with in the Portland Trail Blazers’ front office.
Pritchard’s interest in hiring Buchanan was widely known around NBA circles. The Vertical website first reported Buchanan’s hiring Thursday.
Cho, who previously was the Blazers’ general manager, hired Buchanan in 2014.
