▪  Charlotte Hornets point guard Mo Williams played Friday with a sore left knee. Coach Steve Clifford said Williams’ knee is such that they will have to closely monitor him during games and likely limit his activity in practice the rest of the season.

▪  Power forward Cody Zeller missed his fourth consecutive game with a sprained right shoulder. Zeller was able to participate in the morning shoot-around, but shooting the ball is still too painful for him to be effective.

▪  The Washington Wizards were hosting a Make-A-Wish kid, 13-year-old Nitin Ramachandran, who is battling brain cancer. Neat gesture by the Wizards to introduce him with the starters.

▪  Washington is a very good basketball market that deserved a contending team.
