▪  The Charlotte Hornets played without starters Michael Kidd-Gilchrist at small forward and Cody Zeller at power forward. This was Zeller’s fifth consecutive missed game with a right shoulder sprain. Kidd-Gilchrist sprained his left ankle versus the Washington Wizards Friday.

▪  Hornets coach Steve Clifford said he anticipates Kidd-Gilchrist missing at least seven to ten days and he called that projection optimistic. However, it was encouraging that Kidd-Gilchrist could walk around Saturday without the need for crutches.

▪  Zeller worked out before the game and shot almost exclusively with his left arm, so obviously there’s still a lot of pain in his right shoulder.

▪  Rookie P.J. Hairston is back in the rotation after playing just twice since Jan. 31. Clifford is hoping he can add some scoring pop off the bench.
