Matchup to Watch
Kemba Walker vs. Marcus Smart: Walker has shot poorly for the most part since coming back from knee surgery. The Hornets need him back at top form.
Observations
▪ This is among the key remaining matchups for the Hornets if they are to reach the playoffs. Winning Monday would clinch a tiebreaker over the Celtics.
▪ The Celtics hosted the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday evening before traveling to Charlotte.
Tap-ins
▪ The Hornets again will be without small forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, who sprained his left ankle Friday in Washington.
▪ The Celtics have played of late without forward Jared Sullinger, who has a stress fracture in his left foot.
Did you know?
Isaiah Thomas has become the Celtics’ super sub. He became the first Celtics reserve to score 19 or more points in five consecutive games since Kevin McHale did so in 1983.
