▪  SportSouth will televise the April 8 game between the Toronto Raptors and Charlotte Hornets that ESPN dropped from its original NBA schedule.

▪  Hornets center Al Jefferson was scheduled to have fluid drained from is right knee before Wednesday’s game, according to coach Steve Clifford. That’s the third time Jefferson had needed that procedure in approximately a week.

▪  Clifford said pregame he does not anticipate small forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (sprained ankle) to play again before next week.

▪  That was quite an elbow Jefferson took from Detroit Pistons center Andre Drummond in the first quarter. Drummond was called for a flagrant foul on the play. Jefferson stayed in the game, but held an ice bag to his jaw later on.

▪  Some solid defense for hornets rookie P.J. Hairston in the first half versus the Pistons.
